We Mourn Our Losses

We Celebrate Their Legacy

Larry Goodwin
Dec. 2, 1937 - Jan. 25, 2007

Larry passed away peacefully after a five-year battle with metastatic melanoma. His wife, Carol, and caregiver, Annie, were at his side; as well as his "therapy" cat, Sissy. Larry never gave up hope that he would defeat his disease and it was his positive outlook and uncomplaining nature that saw him through this gift of additional years.

He was born in Winchester, Idaho. His parents were Ira and Ruby Goodwin. He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Patrick (Rebecca), Tyler (Lynn); and daughter, Joelle (Bruce); and grandchildren Lauren, Brett, Jasmine and Tyler. He is also survived by his loving step children, Beth Mandville (Mark) who remained by his side in his final hours, and Russell Palin; and step-grandchildren, Kenneth and Leah Brooks.

His early years were spent in Granger, WA, in the Yakima Valley. He later moved to Seattle, WA. Larry maintained his loyalty to the Univ. of Washington and the Washington Huskies. He followed sports of all varieties. He used his engineering skills in business and developed Bay Piping Products, Inc. After taking early retirement he did work for FEMA on the Northridge and Santa Cruz Earthquakes.

Larry was proud of his association with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and enjoyed patrolling the Bay waters in his boat, Avalon. He was the past commodore of the Sierra Point Yacht Club and will be remembered for his work in building the new club house and putting on his famous St. Patrick's Day dinners.
